Based upon a customer supplied 2D Auto CAD print, we were able to design and fabricate these brackets to meet our client's precise specifications by combining a broad range of advanced machining processes. After production was completed, all units met absolute customer satisfaction.
All parts were constructed from inconel 718, a material which meets several high AMS industry standards. Upholding a (±) .005 inch precision tolerance for overall part dimension and a flatness rating of .001 inches, we employed an Amada laser cutter to form the rough shape of each bracket. In order to ensure that the final product met exact client specifications, we then used our advanced HAAS CNC machining center to mill the finished profile of each part to match precise print dimensions. The finished products measured 4.638 inches long by .566 inches wide and .102 inches thick. Each hole In the bracket had a total tolerance of .002 inches in diameter and possessed a true position of just .01 inches.
After the units were fabricated, machined and ground with our Okamoto Surface Grinder to meet exact client supplied measurements, we then heat treated the parts to a Rockwell hardness rating of HRc 45 +/-5.
In order to ensure accurate traceability, we employed a Monode dot peen machine to provide each unit with its own .06 inch high font serial number and MFG date. Performing a variety of in-house testing, including the use of a magnaflux zyglo and a dye penetrant per ASTM E-1417 Type I standards, we were able to ensure the quality of each product, guaranteeing that each unit met precise client requirements. After these processes were accomplished we media blasted the brackets with 100 grit aluminum oxide and then sprayed the parts with a black, high temperature Sermatech coating with a thickness rating of 700-900 micro inches. The paint then cured for 24 hours at room temperature. By combining a variety of our advanced service capabilities, we were able to provide our clients with a cost-effective and efficient method to construct a series of inconel brackets that met very precise, customer supplied dimensions and absolute client satisfaction. |
